BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle

Arc System Works’ BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is its next big release after Dragon Ball FighterZ (which is out today for all platforms). The crossover fighter features characters from Under Night In-Birth, BlazBlue, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax and Rooster Teeth’s RWBY. The sheer randomness of the fighters involved had quite the number of fighting game fans intrigued.

Unfortunately, the developer latter revealed its paid post-launch character DLC. It consists of 20 characters behind a DLC paid-wall, which is the same number as the base roster. Furthermore, it includes characters like Blake Belladonna from RWBY so not only is the central cast of the series not in the base game but you have to pay to own them.

Though its producer Toshimichi Mori somewhat defended the price in a recent interview, the studio’s official Twitter account is promising “more information” about the DLC. Nothing much was indicated save for the fact that it “hears your voices” and will offer information “very soon.”

BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is out on June 5th for PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch. What are your thoughts on the pricing and amount of character DLC? Let us know in the comments.
