Blizzard Hiring for Unannounced AAA Console/PC Project

An action game with an explorable world, apparently.

Overwatch Summer Games

Blizzard seems to be pretty busy these days. Apart from working on ongoing support for Overwatch, World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, and Diablo 3, they are also working on at least two new mobile games, a new Diablo project, and a new first person shooter, as ResetEra’s Nirolak points out.

However, they may be hiring for a completely brand new project, unrelated to those. Job listings for Senior Level Designer and Art Director for a new, unannounced project (which is not labeled to fall under any of the four other games they are working on listed above) have cropped up on their website, describing an “action game” with an “explorable world” and an emphasis on “pacing and storytelling”. Which doesn’t sound like anything else they have done yet- is it a brand new IP?

Of course, it is entirely possible that this refers to one of the four other projects, and has just been labeled incorrectly so far. On the other hand, this could refer to a game that will never come out. Job listings, while useful at giving us an insight into game development, should never be taken as being indicative of a final product.
