Bloodstained Ritual of the Night

Koji Igarashi’s Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has received some new gameplay footage courtesy of 505 Games. The trailer has released ahead of E3 2017 and features a new boss that we haven’t seen before called Bloodless.

Speaking to Polygon, Igarashi noted that Bloodless can control blood with her mind to attack. “She also uses the umbrella to attack players. Those are also made out of blood, so when you attack her the blood goes on the ceiling, the floor, everywhere. When she strikes, she sometimes uses a skill called ‘Bloodrain’ where blood rains down on the player from the ceiling,” he said via translator.

Bloodless encapsulates the gothic horror theme of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night and is an example of “grotesque mixed up with a little bit of erotica.” It was also noted that this year’s demo saw the difficulty increase, more variation in boss moves and more HP for them overall.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is currently slated to release in Q1 2018 for PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. What are your thoughts on the new footage? Let us know below.
