Following extensive controversies about a potential $80 price, 2K and Gearbox Entertainment have announced that Borderlands 4 will retail for $69.99. Pre-orders are currently available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Interestingly, a price for the Nintendo Switch 2 version wasn’t announced, with Gearbox promising to share more information at a “later date.” Fortunately, fans can look forward to the Borderlands Fan Fest livestream on June 21st at 12:30 PM PT. It will feature a new story trailer, hands-on gameplay from content creators, and much more.

Borderlands 4 launches on September 12th, with its release date moved up from the previously planned September 23rd (and not because of any conflict with other upcoming titles). Set on Kairos, players control four new Vault Hunters who join the rebellion against the tyrannical Timekeeper and his Order forces.

Alongside a seamless world with no loading screens or minimap, the looter shooter promises the “most advanced skill tree yet” and the new Licensed Parts mechanic. Check out more extensive gameplay here.
