At The Game Awards 2019, Square Enix and Nintendo announced that Bravely Default 2, sequel to the beloved 3DS role playing games, will be releasing exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. As you may have guessed, it’s being developed by the same team that worked on, of course, the previous Bravely titles, as well as last year’s Octopath Traveler.

The reveal trailer doesn’t show much, but it does confirm that the game will sport the same chibi-esque art style that was seen in the previous Bravely games. There isn’t much to glean from the trailer as far as details on the gameplay and the combat are concerned, but for fans of the first two games, there’s some interesting stuff to look at for sure. Take a look at the trailer below.

It is, interestingly enough, called Bravely Default 2- so I guess Bravely Second: End Layer has been demoted to “spinoff” status. Either way, Bravely Default 2 launches exclusively for the Nintendo Switch in 2020. Stay tuned for more news and reveals coming from The Game Awards.
