You don’t see a lot of Japanese franchises that follow yearly sequel cycles, despite the success that it’s brought many American publishers, but Bravely Default producer Tomoya Asano is interested in releasing at least one game a year for the franchise.

In conversation with Dengeki Online, he stated that, “Personally, I’m aiming to release a game for the Bravely series at least once a year. So, we’d like to release Bravely Second for sometime in 2014.”

As for development on the sequel to the 3DS hit, Asano stated that, “We’ve completed the scenario outline, and we just about figured out how many things we’ll be required to make for it. We’re currently working on the artwork, while throwing what gets finished into the game.”

Bravely Second will be heading to Japan on the Nintendo 3DS. It will be developed by Square Enix in conjunction with Silicon Studio. Stay tuned for more details, including a possible Western release.
