Bungie Exploring Xbox One Kinect and PS4 Touch-pad Options for Destiny

Will they actually implement support? That remains to be seen.

Destiny (3)
Destiny is scheduled to release early next year, but there’s still so much about the game we don’t know. How will the single-player work exactly? Will players need to be online at all times? Will the game take advantage of any PS4 or Xbox One-specific features when it releases?

At least one of those queries has been cleared up. In conversation with Desti-Nation, Bungie community manager David Dague was asked if the studio was exploring the use of Kinect for the Xbox One or the PS4’s DualShock 4 touch-pad with Destiny. Dague responded, “Certainly, We have next gen dev kits in the studio. We are playing with them and seeing what these new systems have to provide. You’ll understand those plans once you get the controller in your hand, until then it’s all a matter of development.”

So it’s still a matter of time before anything else is revealed or whether Bungie plans to do anything at all with these interfaces. It’ll be interesting, nonetheless. Destiny is scheduled to release on Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox One and PS4 in early 2014.
