As if reporting that the Earth revolves around the Sun, Bungie Studios has announced on their official Facebook page that the upcoming Destiny will be releasing on the Xbox One, along with the PS3, PS4 and Xbox 360.

The persistent online multiplayer shooter was showcased at Sony’s PlayStation 4 reveal event, but despite the hype surrounding it, everyone knew the game would be arriving on Microsoft’s next generation console as well. This is due mainly to Activision, who is publishing the game and wouldn’t miss the chance for some extra moolah.

This is also not counting the history that Microsoft and Bungie share thanks to the latter’s involvement in the Halo franchise. So while we can understand the announcement and wanting to get in one some of the media glow around the Xbox One’s reveal, it was sort of unnecessary.

Regardless, Destiny will still be releasing in 2014 for current and next gen PlayStation and Xbox consoles. Stay tuned for more details.
