Treyarch are next in line to develop a Call of Duty game, which is due out later this year, and while there has been no official word on what exactly the game will be, there have been a few vague hints and reports. David Vonderhaar, who is game design director at the studio, recently took to Twitter to post a few messages about his and Treyarch’s experience working over the past few years and, more specifically, on the upcoming Call of Duty as well.
Vonderhaar by talking about the challenges he’s overcome over his career and the things he’s learned through them as a result, before going on to talk about how the team at Treyarch has responded to challenges during development of games (presumably Call of Duty 2018 as well) has “humbled” him, in his words. He ended by saying that Treyarch are doing “the best work of our lives”. You can read the full tweets below.
As per leaks, Call of Duty 2018 is actually going to be Black Ops 4, but rather than the sci-fi setting of Black Ops 3, it will go for a much more grounded approach. Some reports also suggest that the game might come out on the Nintendo Switch as well. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more updates.
I was originally hired on 10/21/1996. It took a decade to get the chance to meaningfully influence the design of a game and another 10 years (and lots of help) to get good at it.

I am not even sure I go to work to make games anymore? I think I go because every single time we get a new crunchy challenge laid at our feet, I am humbled by how well our team responds when anyone else would #ragequit. I just want to be around people like that.

Hopefully it takes less than 10 years to get good at figuring out all the things I should be doing to help the design team and all of @Treyarch respond to those challenges while doing the best work of their lives.
