Which Specialist ability will you opt for?

Call of Duty Black Ops 3

The multiplayer beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is a few days away for PS4 (with the Xbox One and PC getting it next week). Treyarch is hyping up the various things you can do in the beta including the specialists on offer, weapons, maps, modes and whatnot. In a series of new videos, the developer showcased how the specialist abilities work and how one can go about setting them up.

Each specialist has two abilities – a support type and an attack type – and they each affect your playstyle dramatically. Nomad’s Rejack acts as a self-revive of sorts while his H.I.V.E. has awesome defensive capabilities. Ruin can go into Overdrive and increase his movement speed or employ Gravity Spikes to devastate foes. Meanwhile, Outrider’s Vision Pulse makes it easy to target enemies through smoke and walls while her Sparrow compound bow allows for some explosive action.

Overall, it’s an interesting new twist on the Call of Duty formula (and reminds us more than a bit of Destiny’s Supers). What are your thoughts on the specialist abilities? Let us know in the comments.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’s multiplayer beta starts on August 19th for PS4 and August 26th on Xbox One and PC. It will release on November 6th for current and previous gen consoles.

Update: The videos are no longer available.
