Treyarch has a massive new update in store for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 called Operation Absolute Zero. Due to release tomorrow, it introduces a brand new Specialist named Zero for multiplayer and Blackout. Zero is capable of hacking to “disrupt and distract her enemies”, though how this plays out remains to be seen. To unlock Zero, players will need to complete the first tier in the Black Market.

As for Blackout, it’s undergoing some map changes. On December 11th, Hijacked will arrive on the PS4 in Blackout and is the same super-yacht we came to love in Black Ops 2. Other changes that the Blackout map will face today include winter lighting, smoke trails for better spotting opponents as they drop, and environmental improvements for Nuketown Island, Hydro Dam, and Factor. Players will also have a neat ARAV armoured vehicle with a turret to try out. New Blackout Zombies Character Missions also add our heroes from IX to play with.

Additionally, the Daily Callings will now be active in Zombies, allowing players to complete different challenges for additional XP and Nebulium Plasma. A new challenge will be available each day, so you’re encouraged to keep checking the Zombie Barracks. Finally, there’s the Black Ops Authenticity Stamp system for verifying and sharing game results with others online. The website for the system will track a number of stats, including:

  • Number of kills, deaths, downs, revives, headshots, and rounds survived
  • Map selection, game type, numbers of players, and difficulty attempted
  • Special Weapons, Equipment, and Talismans used
  • Perks and Elixirs equipped
  • Number of Elixirs consumed
  • Match duration, score spent, final score, and more

Keep an eye out for more info when the update goes live tomorrow.
