You have our attention, Activision.

Activision certainly sounds very confident about the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. In a recent earnings call about the first quarter of the financial year, Activision’s Chief Operating Officer Collister Johnson spoke quite a bit about Black Ops 4 and developers Treyarch, talking about “the confidence we have in Treyarch and their ability to execute on their creative vision”, and how Black Ops 4 “will continue to push the envelope in innovation”. Interestingly enough, Activision also claim to have invested “significant dedicated resources” on the game’s PC version.

“It’s an incredible developer with a deep understanding of the community and the first-person genre,” Johnson said while speaking of Treyarch, “but also a real proven track record of innovation, including Zombies and multiple multi-player innovations that have really transformed the industry.”

“This is a game that’s not going to just build on our strengths,” he said, moving on to the topic of Black Ops 4 itself. “It will continue to push the envelope in innovation. You’ll see that in the core game itself, where we have a number of new exciting developments to roll out very soon, but also in the game’s appeal on growth platforms like PC, where we’ve invested significant dedicated resources and design time to make sure we can deliver a great PC game to serve that community. So very soon, May 17, we’ll have a lot more to say at the Black Ops 4 global reveal, and I hope you tune in. You should.”

Black Ops 4 has been in the news a lot lately, and it definitely looks like things are going to be a little different this time around. Not only is there a chance that it may not have a single player campaign whatsoever, the game might also have a battle royale mode being developed by Raven Software. What’s more, Black Ops 4 might also see the return of the Pick 10 system. We will know more when the game is revealed officially with more concrete details on May 17. Stay tuned for more updates.
