For years, the Call of Duty franchise has been exclusive to the Battle.net launcher for PC players. That could end up changing with this year’s sequel, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. On the Steam page for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’s DLC, Reddit user Kalinine spotted artwork from the 2022 title at the bottom, under “Explore the full franchise.”
The artwork features the new Ghost so it’s unmistakably from Modern Warfare 2 (check it out below). Though it was removed from the store page, it remains on Steam’s CDN. Neither Activision, Infinity Ward nor Microsoft has confirmed a Steam release so we’ll need to wait for official confirmation.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 releases on October 28th. Though platforms haven’t been announced, datamining on Call of Duty: Vanguard seemingly revealed that it’s coming to Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and Xbox One. It will allegedly have its beta on PlayStation platforms first. Stay tuned for more details and gameplay in the coming weeks.
