Infinity Ward dropped a patch recently for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. On top of adding two new maps and Hardpoint mode, it also nerfed weapons like the 725 Shotgun and M41A assault rifle. In the case of the former though, it may still be a little too effective at unintended ranges.
Multiplayer co-design director Joe Cecot acknowledged this on Twitter and stated that “Another tweak is coming which should massage out the rare very long shot. Now if the target is at low health this thing will always reach out.” Other changes are unknown but Cecot said that the team is being careful to “retain the soul” of the weapon.
Weapon balance has been a common issue with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare since the beta with many pointing out how effective the M41A is. When the game launched, the 725 Shotgun became an even better option for its sniper-like ranges and one-shot potential. We’ll see how the team adjusts the shotgun going forward. Maybe the other shotguns will also receive some minor buffs to make them more appealing?
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. You can check out our review for the game here. The game will receive its first Battle Pass next month.
