Capcom Says its Upcoming Showcase Could Also Feature “an Announcement or Two”

Capcom has previously said that its upcoming showcase will focus on games that have already been announced, but there might be more to it than that.

June 13 will bring with it the first ever Capcom Showcase, but as per the company’s announcement yesterday, the 35 minute-long show will focus on games that have already been announced. Of course, even with those restrictions, there’s still more than enough to look forward to and to get people excited- but there might be more to the showcase than that.

As pointed out by @ShadowRockX on Twitter, shortly after announcing the showcase, in its Capcom Creators Discord channel, the Japanese company reiterated that the show will feature extended looks at upcoming games. Interestingly, in the same message, Capcom also dropped a tease, adding that the showcase might also feature “an announcement or two”.

What those announcements could be is anyone’s guess, of course. The smart money would be on Dragon’s Dogma 2, but Mega Man and Ace Attorney fans, for instance, will also be hopeful of announcements for new games.

Of course, as mentioned, even in the absence of new announcements, there’s more than enough reason to get excited. With Resident Evil 4’s remakeResident Evil Village’s long-awaited DLC and PSVR2 releaseResident Evil Re:Verse, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, Street Fighter 6Exoprimaland Pragmata, Capcom has quite a bit of fuel in the tank.
