Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is out by the end of June but there’s still plenty of new gameplay into until then. New hands-on impressions have gone live courtesy of outlets like Fextralife, Game Informer, IGN and Arekkz Gaming. Along with monsters like Lunagaron, Garangolm and the newly revealed Blood Orange Bishaten, they also showcase the new areas, armor sets and weapons.

Among the many new gameplay features are Morphed Wirebugs. There are two kinds – Gold and Ruby – with both making it easier to initiate Wyvern Riding. Wirebug Gauge recovery speed is also boosted. While the Ruby Wirebug causes Mounted Punishers to deal more damage, the Gold Wirebug makes it more likely for monsters hit by Wyvern Riding attacks to drop materials.

Monsters returning from previous games include Seregios (where the new Bleed damage can be seen), Shogun Ceanataur, and Astalos. A Follower Hunt with Arena Master Arlow was also showcased. Completing these hunts deepens bonds with NPCs, though to what end remains to be seen.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is out on June 30th for Nintendo Switch and PC.
