Capcom recently announced via their Unity forums that this year, the publisher/developer will not be holding its annual Captivate event.

Senior Vice-President Christian Svensson stated that, “This year we’re likely to be looking at announcements around other events or not at events at all. So there isn’t a Captivate planned this year.”

So while we’ll be seeing Capcom games at E3, Comic Con and the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX), there won’t be a company-organized event for promoting or announcing games. In regards to those events, Svensson said, “we won’t be sharing details until much closer to the events.”

Recently at Sony’s PlayStation 4 reveal, the company unveiled its new Panta Rhei engine and a new project codenamed “Deep Down” that many are speculating is a sequel to the company’s popular action RPG Dragon’s Dogma. As of now, with E3 2013 coming up first, it appears the publisher will have its hands full in the coming year.
