Stainless Games has recently announced that they’ve completed a $3.5 million funding round for the next Carmageddon game, titled Carmageddon: Reincarnation to be released on next generation consoles. This was made possible after a successful Kickstarter campaign in June last year, which contributed to PC development.

Patrick Buckland, CEO and co-founder of Stainless Games stated that, “We are delighted to have fully funded Carmageddon: Reincarnation without having to go outside of the collective of our own company, shareholders and fans. It allows us to maintain a true independence and creative control whilst not having to compromise quality or content by budgetary constraints.”

“For an independent, privately owned company to achieve this, is a testament to our strength and to the loyalty of our fans.”

Carmageddon is one of the more infamous games that kickstarted the violence in gaming debate, since it involves running over pedestrians and garnering extra points based on how messy the kills are. Carmageddon: Reincarnation hopes to recreate that mayhem.
