Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Never Planned for Wii U, Producer Clarifies Statements

And you cannot cancel what never was - or so they say.

Eurogamer posted a story yesterday regarding the development of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 developed by MercurySteam and published by Konami.

In it, producer Dave Cox apparently stated that the game wouldn’t be on the Wii U because “we don’t have the resources or the budget to do it.” He did also that this was currently limited to “the foreseeable future”.

However, Cox has since taken to Twitter stating that it’s not a matter of funds – or even about growing their staff. The tweets in question state that “its a question of resource (people, time, space etc) and focus on what we are already doing”.

On another note, Lords of Shadow 2 was apparently never being developed for the Wii U to begin with. So saying that it was cancelled could of course be a tiny bit misleading. As Cox stated:

Thoughts? Or could you not care less about the sequel coming to Wii U?
