Nintendo and Konami has entered into a new distribution agreement for when Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate releases for Nintendo’s 3DS on March 8th.

The game’s exclusivity has always been known. But according to the new agreement, Nintendo will handle the sales, marketing and distribution throughout Europe and Australia, while Konami remains the publisher.

Managing Director, Marketing, PR & Distributor Markets at Nintendo of Europe Laurent Fischer stated, “There is a rich history of Castlevania games launching on Nintendo consoles dating back to the original Castlevania game which launched on the NES in the 80s.

“We are really proud to be partnering with Konami once again to bring the latest installment in the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow franchise to Nintendo 3DS.”

Developed by MercurySteam Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate more or less kick-starts the Belmonts’ quest to defeat Dracula (whose origins are showcased in Lords of Shadow for PS3 and Xbox 360). And series favourite Alucard is along for the ride to help them.

The events taking place in Mirror of Fate will act as a set-up for the sequel, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2.
