We’re approaching that transitional time between generations now, when all major new releases are straddling the line between being late current gen or early next gen titles. Naturally, questions about cross-gen releases have arisen for many major upcoming titles, and while there are some – like Final Fantasy 7 Remake – which might just end up getting released on new hardware – others are focused only on the here and now.

Take CD Projekt RED and Cyberpunk 2077 for instance. Recently, at E3, we got the chance to chat with Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, quest director on the upcoming RPG, and asked if they have any plans for releasing the game on the Xbox Scarlett, considering the fact that the console launches in Holiday 2020, just months after Cyberpunk’s April release. Tomaszkiewicz told us that the developer is only focused on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and “that’s what we’re putting all our efforts into right now.”

We also asked him if, by any chance, Cyberpunk 2077 could also end up launching on the Switch – similar to CDPR’s own The Witcher 3, which got announced for the Switch at E3 – and Tomaszkiewciz’s response was pretty much the same, saying that CDPR is only focused on the game’s launch platforms for now.

Cyberpunk 2077 is out on April 16, 2020 for the aforementioned systems. Our full interview with Tomaszkiewicz will be live soon, so stay tuned.
