Clair Obscur Expedition 33

Sandfall Interactive’s breakout RPG hit, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, has received a new patch, adding several requested quality-of-life features and visual polish. Perhaps the most significant addition is Battle Retry. Instead of seeing that your Expedition has fallen and going back to the latest checkpoint, you can retry the battle. Truly a brave new world.

Other additions include Lumina costs clearly outlined in the Pictos menu, autoplay for regular dialogue interactions, and distinct volume sliders for exploration and combat. So if you want to crank up the music during battles and drown out everything else, here’s your chance.

Performance-wise, Nvidia DLSS and Intel XeSS have also received Frame Generation and Low Latency support. Combat fixes include Lune’s Thermal Transfer no longer providing an additional turn if you don’t meet the Stain requirements, and the combination of Second Chance, Healing Boon and Protecting Death no longer grants immortality.

Check out the full patch notes below. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. It sold 3.3 million copies in 33 days, and while DLC prospects remain unknown, Sandfall Interactive promises “more to come in the future.”
