Despite fears of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered overshadowing it, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 had a pretty strong launch. Sandfall Interactive announced 500,000 copies sold on its first day, a milestone it reached “sooner than we’d ever imagined.”
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 costs $49.99, so it’s considerably more affordable, but it’s also available on Game Pass for Xbox consoles, PC, and cloud. Regardless, even the concurrent player numbers on Steam are impressive – it peaked at over 51,000 players on launch day and is currently over 71,000 per SteamDB. As word of mouth spreads, it could very well cross 100,000 over the weekend.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is also available for PS5 – check out our review, where we scored it a nine out of ten. Among the many things we praised about the turn-based RPG are its combat, world-building, story, characters, exploration, and art direction. Though there is some noticeable pop-in on Performance Mode for the PS5, it maintains a solid 60 FPS throughout.
