Code Vein Unveiled: Bandi Namco’s Action RPG Receives First Screenshots

Expect a bloody time in 2018.

Bandai Namco has officially revealed Code Vein, its next action RPG coming from the team behind God Eater. Along with new story details, the publisher also released a batch of impressive looking screenshots.

Code Vein takes place in the future where a cataclysmic event known as “the Thorns of Judgment” has left the world in ruins. Only the Revenant, powerful being who lost their memoeries, have survived and they require blood to keep on living. The player is a Revenant trying to solve the mystery of its existence while also seeking escape from the world.

The game is essentially a dungeon crawler where you battle foes alongside a companion. Weapons like swords, rifles and so on are available along with the Blood Veil combat system. This is basically a mask of sorts that allows the Revenant to feed on its enemies. Different Blood Veil can be used including a scorpion-like tail for long distance feeding and those which activate different buffs.

Code Vein’s platforms haven’t been confirmed outside of the mention of “consoles” but it will be out in 2018.
