Concord

Though Sony didn’t have too many first-party heavy hitters at State of Play, it finally revealed Concord, Firewalk Studios’ competitive shooter. Launching August 23rd for PS5 and PC, the 5v5 title gives a Guardians of the Galaxy vibe with its distinct cast and sci-fi universe.

Players can choose from 16 characters, consisting of the Northstar crew and Free Agents, each with unique abilities. However, alongside cinematic vignettes which add to the lore, it will also receive new playable characters, maps and modes in free post-release updates. Firewalk didn’t provide a timeline for these “regular” updates, but it will go into more detail in the coming months leading up to the game’s launch.

In the meantime, pre-orders go live next week, and there will be more information on the various editions offered. There’s a pre-launch beta coming in July, and those who pre-order will gain early access for up to five players. Stay tuned for more updates in the meantime.
