Find out how Contrast began and what it's all about.

Compulsion Games has released a new backstage video for their upcoming platformer Contrast, which details all the behind-the-scenes goings-on surrounding the game as well as exploring its origins. Director Guillaume Provost, set designer Joshua Mills and visual designer Whitney Clayton are on hand with all the details, which includes how the developer brought the world and its protagonist Didi to life. We also get to learn more about her shadow friend Dawn.

Contrast caught our attention not too long ago with its ingenuous mechanics and vaudevillian aesthetic, which sees players traversing a 3D world but transitioning into a two-dimensional plane as Dawn to further explore environments. Dawn is able to open up new paths inaccessible to Didi due to her ability to interact with other shadows. This includes using an arguing couple’s shadows as a means for progressing forward.

Contrast will launch on November 15th in North America and November 29th in Europe for Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and PC.
