Control, like all games made by Remedy Entertainment, is banking as hard on its technical proficiency as it is on its outstanding art design, and the game’s PC version is primed to take full advantage of its strengths in both those areas. Thanks to its partnership with Nvidia, the game will release on PC with ray tracing support, and publishers 505 Games have released a new trailer to give us an idea of just how good it’s going to look with that feature.

The environments of the Oldest House exhibit a sharper level of detail with ray tracing enabled in the video below than any of the footage we’ve seen for the game so far, and that’s already saying something. Even if you were not to look at it with too keen an eye, one look at the facial models of the characters is enough to show you just how much of a difference RTX is going to bring about. Control’s system requirements for PC on recommended settings were recently lowered, so it might be easier for you to run the game with RTX enabled. Don’t fret though- the developers have given assurances that this doesn’t mean there’s been a visual downgradeControl is out for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on August 27th.
