Crackdown 3 Gameplay Debuts at Gamescom

The promise of the cloud?

Crackdown

Crackdown 3 was first introduced to us at E3 last year, but it’s been an enigma more than anything else. We finally got to see the game in action at Gamescom, thanks to a new trailer that simultaneously served as the debut for the gameplay footage, as well as a developer diary, showing us some of the technology that is going behind the game.

The game’s graphics, which are still a work in progress, didn’t look like anything special, but the actual technology powering it looks seriously impressive. The much vaunted cloud tech is going to end up powering the game’s real time destruction, and what little we saw looked very cool. It also helps that the game’s promise of multiplayer is something that seems to be unprecedented on this scale, so if it is pulled off? It would be great.

Crackdown 3 launches exclusively on Xbox One next year. Stay tuned for more Gamescom coverage.
