Just when you thought Pearl Abyss would start slowing down with the Crimson Desert updates, it’s unveiled a whole new preview of upcoming updates from June to September. But that’s not all – DLC is officially in development. The team couldn’t provide any details, but it’s “hard at work” on the same and promises it will be a “meaningful addition to your journey.”

Speaking of meaningful, it’s tackling one of the biggest criticisms of the base game with upcoming updates – the story. “We have been carefully reviewing the story-related feedback you have shared with us. To further strengthen the narrative flow of Kliff’s journey and to make it more engaging, we are working to refine and improve the coherence of key scenes.”

Of course, it should also make for “something new,” even if you’ve already completed the same. Other notable new features include re-blockade changes, from improved rewards after liberation to defensive measures to prevent factions from capturing locations. Pearl Abyss is also adding a new “phase”, ensuring a more “natural” flow for the before and after phases.

Combat aficionados will also have something to look forward to, where they can “prove their true strength as a Greymane.” Improvements are also inbound for the “overall gameplay experience” of Damiane and Oongka, though all characters will get “various adjustments” in the future. Cross-save support is also coming, and you can expect some quality of life for trading, farming, and other “non-combat content.”

As always, Pearl Abyss offers a disclaimer: “The features and content above are currently in development, and details may change when the update is released.” However, thus far, it’s done a very good job of meeting and even exceeding expectations for whatever it’s promised.

Stay tuned for more details on each update and the upcoming DLC. Crimson Desert is available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, and has sold over five million copies since launch.
