Despite effectively completing its outlined plans last month for new Crimson Desert features, Pearl Abyss isn’t done by a long shot. Aside from expanding on the new Re-blockading features and adding more factions in the future, it has a new patch coming “within the next few days” that includes new special mounts.

Another notable feature is “extraction,” where players can “recover materials used in equipment refinement.” Perhaps this refers to the ability to roll back upgrades on weapons and gear, or salvage them entirely for the materials. It would certainly be a good option if you’re never going to revisit that old armor set and weapons used in the first 10 hours or so.

The overall breadth of the update remains unknown, but since it’s out soon, we’ll dig through the patch notes for all the nitty-gritty. In its last update, Pearl Abyss added the option for enemy factions to retake previously liberated zones, effectively addressing the lack of enemies in the late game. It also allowed players to rematch against the various bosses as they were or to face versions scaled to their current level.

You can read all about it (and more) in our feature. Both updates highlight Pearl Abyss’s ability to patch Crimson Desert while addressing player feedback. Head here to learn more about the developer’s approach, especially how it handles the lack of a formal roadmap.
