Stereoscopic 3D without compromise
The promise of 3D visuals is indeed a cool one but, as this is Crysis, it will fall flat on its face if the stereoscopic goodness compromises the graphics in any way. Any screen tearing, frame rate dips or other graphical blemishes at the hands of the 3D effect will completely belie what Crysis achieved when it debuted all those years ago.
True HD
Well, it is Crysis after all. It’s a game with a visual polish that practically demands a high resolution experience. Very few games seem capable of outputting in full 1080p on consoles without some kind of up-scaling going on, so I wouldn’t hold my breath for this particular feature. That said, it would be a major boon for a game that was considered such a trendsetter in terms of visuals.
Crysis Warhead offered as reasonably priced DLC
This will be the test as to whether Crytek are properly “in for a penny in for a pound” in regards to Crysis on consoles. It’s great that Crysis is coming to an Xbox 360/PS3 near you, but why would we not be allowed the full experience? The content added in the 2008 expansion, Crysis Warhead, would be a welcome addition, notably the Crysis Wars update to the game’s multiplayer experience. It’s been said that we won’t get this content straight off though, but a reasonably priced DLC release at some point would remedy this nicely. I place emphasis on reasonably priced though. I’m assuming publishing of the game will be handled by EA as was the case with Crysis 2, and they could well try and rip us off with DLC. Let’s just hope they’re lenient on our wallets.
