Cyberpunk 2077 Outlines RPG Mechanics And Language Support

It's similar to other RPGs, including the namesake Pen and Paper one.

While we might be quite a long time away from CD Projekt RED’s next opus, Cyberpunk 2077, the studio is keeping it far from quiet. While it’s likely still years away from being in our hands, the team has a good enough idea on how the game will work mechanically that they can answer questions about it on Twitter out of nowhere.

In response to an inquiring fan on Twitter, the game’s official page outlined some of the ways the RPG systems will work. Not unlike Cyberpunk 2020, the pen and paper RPG the game is based on, attributes such as STR and REF can be raised through good old fashioned level up and body cyberware. Similarly to a Bethesda game, Skills will grow as they are used, such as hacking becoming more proficient as you do it more and more, and Perks can be unlocked through either XP or Street Cred.

The page also recently confirmed the (currently) 14 supported languages for launch, which is included in a tweet below. Just earlier in the month, we heard straight from the studio itself on the state of development, and how E3 was just the beginning of the story.

Cyberunk 2077’s been getting a bevy of major new updates recently- keep up with all of them here, if you aren’t caught up already. Are you excited for the game, and do you think it will be a next generation game or for current systems? Sound off in the comments.
