With the release of Update 2.0 for Cyberpunk 2077 right around the corner, developer CD Projekt RED is advising players to start a fresh playthrough of the game rather than continuing from their original save files.

The studio is citing the sheer number of changes and additions coming to Cyberpunk 2077 as part of the update for this, stating that it will provide an enhanced gameplay experience, especially to those that decide to start over.

It is worth noting that the update, slated to go live on September 21, will be playable on older save files if the player so decides. The update will bring with it an overhaul to the game’s skill tree progression, as well as new enhancements various other aspects, including police chases, cyberware, and vehicular combat, among others.

The update acts as a prelude to the release of the Phantom Liberty DLC for Cyberpunk 2077, which is set to become available on September 26. The DLC will bring with it a whole new story, and will feature new actors portraying key roles, including Idris Elba as NUSA agent Solomon Reed.
