However, CD Projekt RED's Amelia Korzycka has clarified that this announcement isn't related to a new patch or DLC expansion.

In the wake of releasing Patch 2.3 for Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt RED is seemingly teasing something else. The official Twitter posted a “Message for N.U.S.A. Citizens” from President Rosalind Myers, a key character in the Phantom Liberty expansion, for a “recruitment test” on September 4th.

Speaking about a “mounting cybersecurity threat” from “those who hide in the shadows, too cowardly to publicly proclaim their beliefs,” it seeks the participation of “brave Netrunners” to “overcome this grave threat.”

While there’s no doubt speculation on whether this means another patch or even DLC, senior community manager Amelia Korzycka has clarified that it is neither. She even went the extra step of reaffirming that there’s no expansion DLC in the works. Whatever the case may be, we’ll have to wait until September 4th for more details.

In the meantime, CD Projekt has announced that its teams for The Witcher 4 and Project Orion, Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel, are growing. The latter is still at least four to five years away from launch based on the development team’s usual schedule. At least Cyberpunk creator Mike Pondsmith confirmed that it features a whole new city that feels like “Chicago gone wrong.”
