Dark Souls 2 director Yui Tanimura recently revealed some interesting new details for the sequel, including destructible environments. As of now, it’s an important point for both combat and exploration as Tanimura revealed that, “It is developed in that direction. A hidden route explored only by a precise enemy attack is one of the examples.”

Dark Souls’ co-op experience involves players interacting with each other through clues and messages in order to assist you. Co-operative play for the sequel will be markedly improved this time around. “The upgraded Covenants and the dedicated game server will offer deeper and more comfortable Co-Op and invasions.” Voice chat, however, hasn’t been confirmed as of yet, so keep those typing fingers nimble.

Dark Souls 2 is scheduled to release in March 2014 for PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360. It will be helmed by a new duo of directors with former director Hidetaka Miyazaki acting as a supervisor on the project.
