Dark Souls
Nowadays, pretty much anything can be “like” Dark Souls. Dodge-rolling and stamina management? Dark Souls. A high difficulty level? Dark Souls. Might need an easy mode but also might not need an easy mode? Well, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice but at one point, it was Dark Souls. Days Gone takes the tried and true approach when paying homage to FromSoft’s classic. At the Visitor Center for the Belknap Caves National Monument, you’ll find the remains of a bonfire and a machete stabbed into the centre. It’s a dead ringer for the famous bonfires from Dark Souls, despite the fact that you can’t ignite it, save progress or stop a dying world by linking the fire before actually bringing the age of dark. A shame indeed.
