It’s been a relatively quiet and uneventful week for video game boxed sales in the UK, as per data provided for retail sales by UKIE/GfK Chart-Track (via GamesIndustry) for the week ending May 4. Last weekDays Gone and Mortal Kombat 11 were the two major new releases, with the former taking the top spot- and in the process of doing so, also becoming UK’s biggest retail launch for a game in 2019 so far.

This week, the two games have retained the very same positions, sitting on top of the pile. Days Gone has seen a 60 per cent drop in sales, while Mortal Kombat 11 sees a 74 per cent drop from last week. The next two positions also see no changes, with FIFA 19 and Red Dead Redemption 2 still occupying third and fourth place respectively. In fifth place, though, the perennially successful Grand Theft Auto 5 has jumped up from last week’s eleventh spot.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe remains unmoved at sixth place, while New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe jumps up from ninth to seventh. The Division 2 has seen a bit of a dip, falling from last week’s fifth spot to eighth place this week. Forza Horizon 4 continues its upward climb, going from ninth to tenth, while Anthem has managed to break into the top 10 once again.
