Days Gone Developer Hiring for Its Next AAA Project – But It’s Seemingly for the PS4

Does Sony have more exclusives up its sleeve for its current gen system?

SIE Bend Studio put out their first new game in seven years when they launched Days Gone earlier this year, but it seems the studio’s next title won’t be seeing as much of a gap. The studio has put up a new job listing for the position of a Producer on LinkedIn for its next AAA production- interestingly enough, though, the job ad mentions that the game is going to be a PS4 title.

With the PS4 in the final year (or two) of its life cycle and the PS5 presumably not too far away from launch, one would imagine that Sony and its first parties would all be pooling their resources to work on next gen titles- but that doesn’t seem to be the case with Bend.

“We are seeking a Producer who will be relied upon to collaborate with senior producers, creative leads, and studio directors to develop, maintain and execute on project planning for your teams,” reads the job ad. “You are the strategic thinker for your team, get out front and lead. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of project management, communication skills and a passion for making games. Help us create our next AAA title that will set the PS4 apart from the rest!”

It’s possible that Bend has simultaneously been working on another game while production on Days Gone was being wrapped up and will be sending off the PS4 with a late swansong. It’s also possible that, with the PS5 not having been officially announced, they’re just mentioning the PS4 as a placeholder of sorts. Either way, it counts as interesting.

Meanwhile, Bend’s recent game, Days Gone, has been selling very, very well, in spite of mixed responses from critics upon launch. Read our own review through here.
