Days Gone developer SIE Bend Studio seem to be moving ahead with the production of their next AAA project. A new job listing posted by the studio for the listing of Senior Staff Technical Artist makes mention of a new AAA project that looks like it’s in the works, and mentions some interesting stuff particular to animations.

The studio seems to be aspiring for significantly improved animations, with the job ab mentioning “high quality character rigs with cinematic-quality facial articulation.” It also talks about character movements that “look as realistic as possible,” as well as “realistic deformation for faces, bodies, and clothes.”

It really isn’t much of a surprise that Bend are working on their next game, especially with the PS5 launching soon. In fact, the game has seemingly been in production for a while now. What that next game will be remains to be seen, but given Days Gone’s commercial success, it’s a pretty good bet that they might be working on a sequel.

Last year, the developers talked about how they aspired to turn Days Gone into a franchise and explore “many, many different avenues.” Read more on that through here.
