Dead Cells

Motion Twin’s Dead Cells was one of the highlights on PC last year, launching for Steam Early Access and quickly conquering hearts with its combination of random generation, Metroidvania-like gameplay and tough-as-nails combat. The developer has been making several changes to the experience over time but in a recent video, it confirmed that the Early Access price would be going up after the Steam Winter Sale.

Currently the game is priced at $16.99 but after January 4th, 1 PM ET when the sale ends, it will end up costing $19.99. It’s a modest increase but a recent developer video indicates that there may be another price rise in the future.

The video also looks over progress till now and what work remains to be done and suffice to say that Dead Cells has come a long way. Whether it will be on track to leave Steam Early Access this year remains to be seen. Let us know what you think of the price increase in the comments though.
