Dead Cells Rise of the Giant

Dead Cells is one of those big indie success stories that you can’t help but smile about even if you’re not into it yourself. The game has managed to pass over 2 million copies sold, which is quite the feat considering how it has no major publisher backing it. The fans of the game have also come to enjoy the multiple free updates the title has been given by developer Motion Twin, and more keeps getting added with the newest update, which asks, “Who’s the Boss?”

This is the 14th update to Dead Cells and will include new weapons that are tied to all the bosses in the latest version of the game, with a total of seven. Along with that come mobs that are themed after the bosses, which will give you a chance to practice up (and probably get smacked down a time or two) with each encounter. And along with that come multiple quality of life improvements, such as bugs and glitches getting fixed and color scaling of items. You can hear the developers themselves detail the whole thing in the video below.

Dead Cells is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. The “Who’s the Boss?” update is live now on PC, with the console versions to come shortly.
