During Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference presentation, the company featured Hideo Kojima, who revealed that Death Stranding Director’s Cut will be coming to macOS later this year. While an exact release date wasn’t announced, pre-orders through the App Store on Mac devices are slated to start soon.
Kojima also revealed during the presentation that his studio—Kojima Productions—also plans to bring future games on to Apple’s hardware. “This is just the beginning, and we are actively working to bring our future titles to Apple platforms,” he said during the presentation.
While quite a few games are often released on Mac, the platform is typically not considered to be a high priority for many AAA developers and publishers. Things seem to be changing, however, and Apple also worked with Capcom last year to bring Resident Evil Village to its platforms.
“Now we are entering a new era for gaming on the Mac,” said Kojima. “So, I’m very happy to announce that we are bringing Death Stranding: Director’s Cut to the Mac later this year.”
During the event, Apple also unveiled its AR/VR mixed-reality headset, dubbed the Vision Pro.
