Death Stranding: Hideo Kojima Possibly Teases A New Scene Through… Toys

Kojima is (not) playing around.

What do we know about Death Stranding, in terms of its story and basic concept? Very little. It looks like Hideo Kojima is cryptically trying to give us hints to piece together though. Or maybe it’s nothing and we’re just thinking way too much about an innocent tweet. Either way, it’s fun to think that maybe it’s the former, so let’s just roll with it.

Hideo Kojima recently tweeted a picture of… toys. Toys that look like himself, Mads Mikkelsen, who is also starring in Death Stranding, and it seemed like he was playing out some sort of scene with those toys that could hint possibly at Death Stranding’s narrative elements. The Mads Mikkelsen toy is standing over a baby (similar to the one Norman Reedus was holding in the game’s reveal trailer), with Kojima’s toppled figure hanging out of a yellow submarine.

Hideo Kojima himself, meanwhile, promises he’s not playing around. What does it mean? We have no idea, but could he be hinting at a scene from the game? It’s likely. Hideo Kojima recently spoke about Norman Reedus’ involvement in the game, and how from the very beginning he planned on having the The Walking Dead actor involved in the project. Read all about it here.
