Kojima fans are known for digging too far deep into every single thing about his games, and extrapolating the wildest possible stretches from that digging- it’s why we have fans who to this day are waiting for complete disarmament in The Phantom Pain to unlock its true ending.
So, naturally, every little thing that gets said or shown about Death Stranding gets scrutinized infinitely, too. So, here we are- Kojima has apparently shared a picture of the dog tags that Norman Reedus’ character holds in the upcoming game, and they apparently have the Schwarzschild radius (a famous astrophysical equation that calculates the radius necessary for a certain mass to have an escape velocity equal to the speed of light) inscribed on them.
It’s a neat clue, actually- because Reddit user falconbox has suggested these may be hinting at some sort of space relate theme for the game. I’m not sure if it has to do about space, but needing an escape velocity greater than the speed of light is something that specifically happens with black holes (which is why light can’t escape their event horizon)- so I am curious to see if these are metaphors that will make it into Death Stranding somehow. Whenever the hell it ends up releasing.
The "thing" that Norman is wearing in DEATH STRANDING has been created based from CGI model data, material is titanium. This is still sample, checking to see whether to merchandise. pic.twitter.com/fdgOzeCzW9
