Death Stranding Director’s Cut will be launching forPS5 soon, but as anyone who’s had experience with cross-gen releases on the console will tell you, its PS4-to-PS5 save transfers aren’t exactly going to be a smooth process. PS5 re-releases and cross-gen games have previously required players to go separately upload their save data from the native PS4 version and then downloading it separately in the PS5 release, and that’ll be true for Death Stranding as well.
The newest update that just went live for Death Stranding on PS4, in fact, has now enabled that option. Players can boot up the game and as long as you don’t have any deliveries in the game pending, you can upload your save data in preparation of the upcoming PS5 launch. When it does launch, you’ll be able to download your save and continue your progress, though there will be some minor alterations, like online shared content being replaced, active standard orders and supply requests being cancelled, and more.
Death Stranding Director’s Cut launches for PS5 on September 24. Check out its final trailer ahead of its upcoming release through here.
