Deathground

In this Dino Crisis-bereft world, any title that offers survival gameplay against terrifyingly intelligent dinosaurs is worth checking out. Case in point is Jaw Drop Games’ Deathground, which enters early access on October 7th for PC. Check out the latest trailer below.

The initial vibe is very Alien: Isolation-esque, complete with a motion sensor for tracking the dinosaurs. Of course, it’s not long before they catch your scent, beginning a desperate escape (assuming you completed the core objective). There’s a bit of Dead by Daylight ingrained in the experience, as players slide under Pallets to avoid the dinosaurs and hide within lockers.

Be careful, though – if the Utahraptor catches a player’s scent, it can drag them out from under desks or the inside of barrels and rip them apart. Firearms and throwables are available to even the odds, though they’re likely to be of limited use.

Deathground will retail for $14.99 for its early access launch. Stay tuned for more details on its content and future updates. In the meantime, check out our 2023 interview with the development team about the gameplay and how intelligent the dinosaurs can be.
