Shortly after having exited Early Access on PC, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is now making its way to Android and iOS. The announcement was made alongside the patch notes for upcoming updates for the title, and came along with a new trailer which you can check out below.

The trailer shows off what kind of gameplay you can expect from the mobile version of Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor. It will essentially be the same game as what we have on PC, albeit with a different control scheme that makes use of an on-screen joystick to control the character. Generally speaking, the game’s simplistic control scheme should make it perfectly playable on smartphones, since you don’t really get to do much aside from move around and occasionally select upgrades when you level up.

In the announcement, Funday Games producer Jacob Laurits Basenbacher Kjeldsen said that the decision to bring Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor to Android and iOS devices largely came about after the studio saw how much of the PC version’s play time was being taken up by portable gaming systems like the Steam Deck.

“We’ve realized that Survivor was perfect for smaller, portable devices when we saw how popular the game has become on Steam Deck,” he said. “It felt only natural to bring the game’s bullet heaven action to mobile, and soon players will be able to rock and stone on the phone wherever they are!”

When it comes out on iOS and Android—available through App Store and Google PlayDeep Rock Galactic: Survivor will make use of a “try before you buy” model, where players can download it and try out the Elimination mission with the Scout class in the Crystalline Caverns on Hazard 1 for free. Those that enjoy the game can then access the rest of it with a one-time payment. Along with this, the mobile will release is slated to feature no advertisements.

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor – a spin-off to co-op shooter Deep Rock Galactic – was first released in Early Access all the way back in early 2024. The title proved to be an instant hit, selling more than 1 million copies in its first month alone. Since then, developer Funday Games has been working on releasing constant updates for it, leading up to its exit from Early Access earlier this month.

The game has players take on the role of one of for playable classes – Scout, Engineer, Gunner and Driller, each equipped with their very own weapons depending on the subclass chosen, as they venture deep beneath the surface of planet Hoxxes. As they take on missions to mine and gather precious minerals and plants, players will have to content with the local fauna getting progressively more angry, attacking them in hordes.

Along with its core gameplay loop of getting random weapons with unique upgrades over the course of a run, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor also features plenty in the way of meta progression, with the ability to find and equip gear that provides special bonuses, as well as a passive skill tree to work your way through.
