Destiny 2 Episode 1 Echoes_02

In the wake of The Final Shape’s launch, things have quietened down a bit for Bungie’s Destiny 2. Nevertheless, Bungie continues to release updates for Episode 1: Echoes. The first Act is ongoing, but fans won’t have to wait much longer for Act 2 – it launches on July 16th.

Before that, the developer will host a livestream to discuss and preview the upcoming new content. A date has yet to be announced, so stay tuned, but in the meantime, it’s probably best to complete any pending Act 1 quests.

Touted as a replacement for the seasonal model, Episodes follow many of the same tenets, introducing new activities, a vendor with new loot to focus and weekly quests to advance the story. Act 1 of Echoes had some pretty big revelations – how the next Act builds on that momentum remains to be seen.

Destiny 2 is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. Check out our review of The Final Shape here. Two more Episodes are coming this year – Revenant and Heresy – while Bungie has announced Codename Frontiers for 2025.
