Destiny 2: Bungie Denies Stock Acquirement Rumour

"No scenario where Activision is awarded Bungie stock."

Posted By | On 14th, Feb. 2017

Remember when Kotaku’s Jason Schreier spoke to two sources familiar with Bungie’s Destiny and the circumstances surrounding Destiny 2 if it’s delayed? Apparently, Activision will not acquire a sizable stock of the developer if the sequel doesn’t arrive in 2017.

According to Bungie, “There is no scenario where Activision, or any other partner we work with, is awarded Bungie stock.” The interesting part to note is that, as per Schreier, such information has been around both inside and outside of Bungie. Regardless, take it with a grain of salt for now.

Employees’ stock vesting schedule being based on game releases is still very much true though. Regardless of whether Activision gets any stock or not, Bungie is still motivated to release Destiny 2 in late 2017.

What are your thoughts on the whole situation? Will Destiny 2 really arrive this year and when will more news come out? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more information.
