When it’s not delivering terrible content and locking you out of existing content for $20, Bungie is busy shipping broken weapons with Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris. If you haven’t heard, the new trace rifle Prometheus Lens is good. Like, really good. Like, capable of taking down a full squad of four players with ease good.

Much of that is attributed to the weapon’s burn damage which ticks alongside the direct damage from the beam. The beam only ramps up as the weapon continues firing. However, it seems that some facet of Prometheus Lens is actually bugged. Community manager David “DeeJ” Dague admitted as much on Twitter and said that the developer would be addressing it and discussing solutions in the next weekly blog post.

Can it be patched, especially if it requires a client-side patch? No doubt but the real question is whether this can be fixed before Trials of the Nine begins tomorrow. Until the inevitable nerf, find this gun and have fun. It won’t be overpowered for much longer. If you don’t have one and see it in the Crucible, take our advice and just run.
